New Castle is a special place known as authentically Colorado. Located on the Western Slope of the Rocky Mountains the town is bordered on the north by 7,000 acres of Bureau of Land Management lands and 20,000 acres of White River National Forest. South of town are 11,000 acres of protected Division of Wildlife properties. The Colorado River flows through town, presenting wonderful opportunities for trout fishing, white water rafting and kayaking, and wildlife viewing.
